This gas fireplace has a raised hearth providing additional seating and a stunning hand-hewn mantle that rests on two timber supports. The mantle ties in perfectly with the exposed beams and timber accent trusses above. A vaulted ceiling really opens the space, making it very spacious and inviting. You'll also notice the beautiful chandelier and framed Samsung TV, which are both visually appealing in this space.
• Kitchen: The chef's kitchen is connected to the great room and is conveniently located near the stairs to the loft and lower level. One of the many focal points in the stunning kitchen is the rustic hickory range hood above the oven. A darker finish on the range hood complements the custom hickory cabinetry, which uses a lighter color finish. The ceiling features wood beams and nickel gap board, adding to the rustic charm of this farmhouse timber frame home. There is an outdoor fireplace with the same stone, chaise, hearth, and mantle as the interior fireplace. Eight-by-eight hand-hewn timbers, exquisite trusses, a rustic pine tongue and groove ceiling, and a maintenance-free metal railing add to the character of this timber farmhouse home.

The dining area uses a combination of timber on one wall and drywall on the other. The focal point of the dining area is the custom-built table, made with light wood that has a live edge. The black chairs tie in with the dark backsplash and countertops in the kitchen.
• Master Suite: This farmhouse timber frame home has a private master suite that is located off the great room. Since the master bedroom sits just outside the lofted area, the space allows for a vaulted ceiling. Different materials are used in this bedroom, such as a combination of drywall, tongue and groove walls, and a lighter ceiling finish with wood beams. Hand-hewn baseboard, bandboard, and casing add dimension and character to the space. Massive Pella casement windows let in lots of light. This room can also be used as a home office.

There are built-in wood benches with storage, great for taking off boots and shoes when you come in from outside. This additional room can be used for another car, a UTV, or a snowmobile. The garage floor slopes towards the center drain, which is great when there is snow on your cars. You can even rinse the floor or the cars with the water hookup in the garage. On the other side of the loft, there is a reading nook and another sitting area with a vaulted ceiling in the gable dormer. Large windows allow light to flow through this space, providing amazing views. You can also really see the intricate beamwork and timber details on the ceiling.
• Bedroom: A shed dormer adds even more space than a gable dormer, making it possible to add another bedroom and closet to this farmhouse timber home.
• Bathroom: Another full bathroom with a tiled shower is located outside the bedroom. The upper level could be used as its own private suite, great for hosting guests.

Lower Level of the Custom Farmhouse Plan

The finished basement of this custom farmhouse timber frame home is designed with entertaining in mind. The entire lower level and the master suite on the first floor have in-floor heat.

• Main Living Area: In the main part of the lower level, there is a bar and a sitting area with a projector and another fireplace, similar to the other two in this timber farmhouse. A walk-out wall provides access to a patio. 10-foot high ceilings make the lower level feel like an expansion of the first floor.
• Bar: A gorgeous bar is the focal point of the main living area. The bar top is made with the same rustic pine slab with the live edge as the bathroom countertop and dining room table. The bar has plenty of seating, perfect for entertaining. The bar uses the same stone that was used on the fireplaces, and the other side of the bar top has a leather rock chip granite countertop. There are shelves that house the drinkware and liquor, and more beverage centers for keeping drinks chilled. This bar area also has a prep sink.
• Bedroom: Another bedroom is located in the basement, with full-size windows that let in light. It has the same ceiling finish and trimwork as the upper level. Eight-foot-tall barn doors lead into a full bathroom.
• Bathroom: A lower-level bathroom has a tiled shower and a six-foot vanity countertop with a copper sink. The countertop uses the same rustic pine wood slab with the live edge.
• Home Gym: This farmhouse timber frame home has a home gym with drywall and vertical tongue and groove wainscoting.

The exterior of the timber farmhouse uses a variety of materials.
