Upon stepping inside this impressive custom timber frame house, you're instantly captivated by the breathtaking scenery. Beyond the vibrant social spaces, the home offers warm, inviting living areas for both owners and guests. Each floor includes a guest suite with flexible sleeping arrangements or nurseries for visiting grandkids, ensuring comfort for all. Main Level of the Mountain Timber Frame Home

The main level of this upscale New York custom timber frame home features an open floor layout, connecting the kitchen, dining area, and great room, creating the perfect gathering space. A private master bedroom and full guest suite are also located on the main floor. This luxurious mountain retreat also features first-floor laundry for added convenience. Outdoor living areas like the deck off the master suite and the covered porches off the main living areas connect the indoors with nature.

• Kitchen: Starting the tour in the kitchen, there are two islands. One is a food prep area, and the other is for serving. There is a microwave drawer in one of the islands, conveniently tucked away out of view. A dishwasher and sink are also added to the prep island. The serving island has a warming drawer to keep food warm and ready to serve when hosting. Each island has different countertops, cabinets, hardware, and outlets. On the end panel of the serving island, the details match the backsplash. These colors complement the custom-made stools. Around the corner, there is a coffee bar and beverage station. The main focal point is the custom-made steel and copper hood above the stove. The tile and countertops pull in brown tones from the timber trusses above. Cabinets are panel-ready, blending the appliances into the cabinetry for a seamless look. Textured glass adds a gradient in the upper cabinets. Every detail was accounted for, such as the deep drawers that add plenty of storage for small appliances and pots and pans. This luxury mountain home plan has large Pella picture unit windows that provide unobstructed views outside. Patio doors lead out to a covered porch with an eating area.
• Great Room: A gorgeous wood-burning fireplace with a stone mantle is the focal point in the great room. Vaulted ceilings allow for a handcrafted, hand-hewn timber truss above. This room is the perfect gathering space when entertaining, as it's connected to the kitchen and dining area.
• Master Bedroom and Bath: This luxury timber frame home has a private master suite on one side of the home with a deck. There are vaulted ceilings in this space, creating an open and airy feel. A feature wall of windows allows for the perfect sitting area and morning coffee spot. Custom cabinetry frames out the bed, adding character to the space. The color of the cabinetry was chosen to match the beamwork above. In the master bedroom, smooth beams were used instead of the hand-hewn detail in other places of the home. In the bathroom, there are two matching walk-in closets, his and her vanities with beautiful stone countertops, lots of cabinetry for storage, and a makeup station. The vaulted ceilings continue in the spa-like bathroom, allowing for large windows that let in plenty of light and provide stunning views. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower and a water closet with a toilet.
• Guest Suite: This luxurious mountain retreat has a full guest suite on the main level with lighter colors and tones creating a welcoming atmosphere. The white-wash shiplap walls add texture and dimension to this space. This guest bedroom also has vaulted ceilings and an impressive view out the windows. Sliding barn doors lead to the bunk room or nursery, adding more space for out-of-town guests. A grilling deck is located off this bedroom, connecting the indoor space with the outdoor living area.
• Guest Bathroom: On the first floor of this custom timber home, there is a guest bathroom conveniently located near the second bedroom, mudroom, and kitchen. This room has stained cabinetry that matches the interior doors. Heavy base, case, and ceiling bandboard were used in this room.
• Mudroom: A mudroom with storage and a bench is right off the attached garage, the perfect drop zone for boots, shoes, hats, jackets, and coats. Another custom-made timber bench is placed along a timber weatherwood accent wall.
• Laundry Room: The laundry room is located behind the mudroom. It has plenty of cabinetry for storage, lots of counterspace, and a sink in addition to a high-end washer and dryer. The lighter cabinetry makes the room feel larger and brighter.

Lower Level of the Luxury Timber Frame Home

This finished basement provides extra square footage with three more bedrooms, two bathrooms, and plenty of room for entertaining.

• Open Concept Entertainment Area: The focal point of the lower level space is the bar area with the timber accent steel corrugated roof system, custom rustic pine top, and granite countertop behind the bar. An accent piece behind the bar has patina copper and corrugated metal, which complements the custom wire racking shelving and lighting fixtures above. A second stone fireplace with a handcrafted timber mantle is in this gathering area, perfect for use in the winter. The lower level has 10-foot ceilings, which help to make the space feel roomy, great for entertaining large groups. In the rec room, there is a 150-year-old restored pool table.
• Two Matching Guest Bedrooms: In the basement of this custom mountain home, there are two identical bedrooms with windows flanking either side of the bed. They both have double-hewn wood accent walls, hand-hewn trimwork, and a closet. In between the bedrooms, there is a shared bathroom with a tub shower combo.
• Fifth Bedroom: On the other side of the basement, there is a fifth bedroom that mirrors the bunk room above. Barn doors also lead to a nursery or bunk room with additional space for hosting. This bedroom uses a mixture of barnwood accent walls and drywall.
• Bathroom: Another bathroom with a furniture-style vanity has open legs and open shelving. The flooring goes underneath and makes the space feel larger. This bathroom is connected to the guest bedroom, but there is also access to the powder room from the main living area.
• Mechanical Room: This custom timber frame home has a mechanical room that houses the backup air conditioning and heating system. There is a 600-foot well beneath the home, so there are pressure systems that filter that water, and an automatic shut-off in case of a leak. In this room, you'll also find all of the piping for the in-floor heat in the lower level, first floor, and the garage.
• Tech Closet: This luxury mountain timber frame home is smart-enabled. A completely separate room is used for the smart home systems and electrical systems.
• Storage Rooms: This home has a couple of storage closets and rooms in the basement. These spaces are great for storing holiday decorations, outside toys, and more.
• Golf Simulator & Theater Room: This luxurious mountain retreat in New York has a special room in the lower level that sets it apart from other timber frame home plans. Underneath the garage, a soundproof space was designed with pre-cast concrete panels, perfect for a golf simulator and theater. Two projectors are used – one for the golf simulator and another for a drop-down projector for movies. There are 10 reclining chairs and a bar behind them.

The entertaining spaces are not limited to the interior of this luxurious mountain retreat. Outside, you'll find a pickleball court, a basketball hoop, a pool with lounge chairs, a hot tub, and a sauna. An outdoor pavilion adds cover from all types of weather and the sun. There is also an outdoor kitchen and sitting area.

Various materials are used on this custom mountain home. Our proprietary 10-inch double-hewn siding, vertical corners, handsplit cedar shakes, and cultured stone come together perfectly, adding excellent curb appeal. Outdoor timber trusses add a rustic look to this custom mountain timber frame home. In the design process, maintenance-free elements like the railings, custom caps, and decking were incorporated for less upkeep.
